Omnyx

Omnyx was founded as a joint venture of GE Healthcare and UPMC in 2008 to fulfill a transformational vision: Digitize anatomic pathology to improve quality, efficiency and access to pathologists -- and do so globally. Today, pathologists still rely upon their microscopes and glass slides as the primary tools of their craft. Pathologists are central to patient care and are the source of definitive diagnosis to many diseases, especially cancers. Much like the transformation that occurred in radiology years ago, Omnyx's products are digitizing pathology through the development of whole-slide scanning products that capture images at micron-level resolution and an Integrated Digital Pathology software platform allowing pathologists to view those images, analyze them and manage the workflow. Omnyx products are for research use only and are not for use in diagnostic procedures.
